The last word
Dear CommonSpirit Health teams,
Today, as I prepare to bid farewell to this incredible journey we have shared, I find myself filled with a profound sense of gratitude and admiration for each and every one of you. For the past 22 years, it has been my honor and privilege to lead and serve alongside such an exceptional group of individuals dedicated to the healing ministry of Jesus. In 2021,
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest appreciation to each employee who at one time or another served under my leadership in this ministry. Your unwavering commitment, resilience, and dedication to our patients have been nothing short of extraordinary. Throughout the years, I have witnessed the sacredness of your work. Your tireless efforts, your compassion, and your unwavering belief that humanity holds the power to heal. As I reflect, I can think of countless times you have touched lives, providing comfort, hope, and healing when people needed it most. Please know that your work matters immensely and has made a profound impact on me, and our EUS family. I love you all so much.
As I reflect upon our collective accomplishments, I am filled with immense pride. Together, we have achieved remarkable progress and faced countless challenges head-on. Through adversity, we have emerged stronger, more resilient, and united in our mission. The positive changes we have brought about within our ministry are a testament to your unwavering dedication and spirit.
To my colleagues and peers, I extend my deepest gratitude for your collaboration, committment, and unwavering support. The privilege of serving alongside individuals who share the same passion and has been truly humbling. Your expertise, insights, and friendship have enriched my professional journey immeasurably. I will forever cherish the memories we have created together and the impact we have made collectively.
While I embark on a new chapter, please know that I will be cheering you on from the sidelines, filled with optimism for your future. I am wholeheartedly rooting for each of you in your personal and professional lives. Your potential knows no bounds, and I have no doubt that you will continue to drive remarkable progress within the ministry and beyond. As you navigate the challenges that lie ahead, remember that your work is meaningful, and you possess the power to make a profound difference every single day.
In closing, I want to reiterate what a privilege and an honor it has been to lead the EUS (and other) teams over the last two decades. I depart with a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving that I have gotten to do this for over 20 years.
May you know every day that I am FOR you and may you find fulfillment, joy, and continued success in all your future endeavors. Cherish the moments, embrace the challenges, and remember the profound impact you have the power to make. I am forever proud to have been part of this incredible journey with you. Next year, the book I wrote in 2021-2022 will be published, it’s called the Sacred Cubicle. The dedication was easy, it’s to the EUS team members from 2004-2023, you have done sacred work my friends. I love you!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
