In 2022, I set out on a journey that started with a simple idea but has turned into something more than I imagined. Writing The Sacred Cubicle has been a process full of late nights and early mornings, reflection and anticipation, joy and regret and lots of coffee shop visits. At times, words flew off the keyboards, other times I felt stuck, sometimes stretched, and many times vulnerable. But today, I’m excited! 49,000 words have officially been sent to the publisher.
The Sacred Cubicle invites readers to see their daily tasks, their job roles, and even their professional setbacks as opportunities to participate in the mission of God. For many, the marketplace might be the last place we think of as holy ground. When most people envision “work,” images of competition, corporate buzzwords, and endless gray cubicles often come to mind. But what if those places could be more? What if, instead, each cubicle, classroom, construction site, and Zoom call was a mission field—a sacred space where God was at work?
In this book, I explore the role of Christians as “sent ones” in the mission field of the workplace. Offering practical advice for embodying the fruit of the Spirit in environments that often feel anything but spiritual. Together we’ll unpack joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control, love and faithfulness-qualities that bear witness to our very good God.

I hope The Sacred Cubicle resonates with you, and that together we can see every office, newsroom, law firm, restaurant, school and airport as a place where the Kingdom of God is near.
The Sacred Cubicle is dedicated to the extraordinary team I had the privilege of leading for over 20 years. As I wrote, I often thought of them—of the countless days, the dedication, the highs and lows, and the shared mission we pursued together.
